Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the cost and simplify the process management, by carrying out the fluorescent film formation during the inert gas jetting step effected at a bending and evacuation machine in the early stage of bulb heating process.
CONSTITUTION: After a fluorescent material suspension is applied and dried on the inner surface of a bulb 1, a stem 3 is sealed in each end of the bulb. This sealed bulb 1 is mounted via one thin pipe 4 of a bending and evacuation machine, and then the heating of the bulb 1 is started and simultaneously inert gas is introduced thereinto from the thin pipe 4. Next, the indtroduction of the inert gas is stopped and the thin pipe is immediately sealed and cut. The bulb 1 is further heated to be softened in this state, and bent and molded in the next molding section.
