Abstract

PURPOSE: To assure safe operation as well as permit high performance purification of gas purification cylinder by preventing adverse influence of the contact of hot gas on adsorbent by indirectly effecting the heating of adsorbent.
CONSTITUTION: When reactivating inactivated adsorbent, the blower 8 is first operated to send air into the injection pipes 12 and 11 through the filter 9 in order to purge liquid nitrogen and vaporized gas remaining in the adsorption cylinder 5 through the exhaust pipe 13, and then the heater 7 is operated to heat the incoming air to approx 300°C and then send it into the adsorption cylinder 5. The heated air is introduced into the coolant injection chamber 6 to heat the outside tube wall of the packed tube 4 for indirectly heating the adsorbent 3. On the other hand, gas present in the packed tube 4 is sucked up by the vacuum pump 10 through the pipes 16 and 15 to remove impurities liberated from the adsorbent 3 to the outside.
