Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit the floating concentration of hard-to-concentrate sludge to a high concentration by intermittently supplying a mixture of sludge and a gas- dissolved pressurized water to a floating concetration tank.
CONSTITUTION: Liquor is introduced into the pressure water tank 2 by the pressure water pump 1 to bring it into contact with gas supplied by pressure from the compressor 3 for the manufacture of a gas-dissolved pressurized water. Then. the gas-dissolved pressurized water is mixed with sludge supplied by the pump 5 in the mixing portion 4 and then sent to the floating concentration tank 6, whereupon pressure is rapidly released at the mixing portion 4 and the floating concentration tank 6 to form fine bubbles which adhere to the solid sludge and float it up to the cloth layer 7, where it is accumulated. On the other hand, liquor separated is released from the sluice 8 through the water collection trench 10 to the outside. The concentration cycle is regulated by timer 11. When the upper surface of the cloth is risen up to the raking up level, the rake 9 is operated by the timer 12 to rake up and remove the flocs from the upper surface of the cloth. The operations are repeated fixed times to complete the raking up operation and then subsequent concentration process is started.
