Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an inexpensive small waste water treating apparatus having high capacity by integrating an electrolytic tank using an activated carbon and a separation tank of insoluble fine floated substances (SS).
CONSTITUTION: To a middle stage of a treating tank 1, a raw water distributing pipe 3 is provided and, in a bottom portion of the tank 1, an activated carbon layer 9 is provided on a porous plate 13 and anode plates 7 and cathode plates 8 are arranged mutually so as to be partially embedded in the activated carbon layer 9. On the other hand, a sludge collecting rake 10 is provided in an upper portion of the tank 1. In above described apparatus, if a raw water containing pressurized air preliminarily dissolved therein is flowed out downwardly from an opening 4 of the distributing pipe 3, a large amount of SS in a raw water is floated to a water surface by small air bubbles generated in this time as a sludge 14 accompanying the air bubbles and the residual SS is floated along with hydrogen and oxygen generated by electrolyzing water by the electrode plates 7, 8 and exhausted from a sludge outlet 11 by the sludge collecting rake 10. On the other hand, the water passing through the activated carbon tank 9 is taken out as a regenerated water from a conduit 6 and a treated water outlet 5.
