Abstract
PURPOSE: To protect the detection circuit incorporating the detection element from changes in the power supply voltage and in the environmental temperature by means of a temperature compensating circuit incorporating the temperature compensating element of a specified composition.
CONSTITUTION: A heating resistor 3 having the electrodes 2a and 2b at both ends is provided on one surface of the heatable electric insulator substrate 1 and a heating power source 4 is connected to the electrodes 2a and 2b. The other surface of the substrate 1 is provided with the gas detecting element 6 having the electrodes 5a and 5b at both ends thereof and the temperature compensating element 8 having the electrodes 7a and 7b. In addition, the gas detecting element 6, the temperature compensating element 8, the fixed resistance R and the variable resistance R' are provided to form a gas detecting bridge circuit. The gas detection and measurement are performed compensating for the temperature of the gas detecting element 6 and the temperature compensating element 8 under the same heating conditions with the heating of the heating resistor 3 by the heating power source 4. The temperature compensating element 8 to be used is mainly composed of SnO2 and ZnO added to by 0.1W3wt% of one or more kinds of compound of Rb and Ir.
