Abstract
PURPOSE: To color a heat-sensitive recording paper at a predetermined density with a low impressed power by using amorphous silicon as an antioxidation layer for a heating resistor, in a thin-film thermal head of a small-sized facsimile device.
CONSTITUTION: On a ceramic substrate 1 consisting of alumina (Al2O3) or the like, there are provided a glaze layer 2 made of amorphous glass containing as a main ingredient lead dioxide (PbO2) or the like having a heat storing effect and a heating resistor layer 3 consisting of TaN or the like formed by DC sputtering or the like, and two lead electrodes 4 and 4' consisting of vacuum deposition layer of michrome-gold or the like are formed on the resistor layer 3. An amorphous silicon layer 8 about 1μm thick for preventing the oxidation of the resistor layer 3 is formed over the surface of the heating portion 5 of the resistor layer 3 by HF sputtering or the like, and an abrasion-resisting layer 7 consisting of Ta2O5 is formed on the silicon layer 8 by HF sputtering or the like.
