Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent engine pulsation, deterioration of fuel consumption and air pollution, by providing a pump house with a valve for feeding fuel in an accelerating fuel chamber after a throttle valve of a primary carburetor is opened to a preset degree.
CONSTITUTION: A pump house is equipped with a valve 8, so that fuel from an accelerating pump 7 is fed in an accelerating fuel chamber 12, after a throttle valve 1 of a primary carburetor is turned from its "close" position to a preset degree of opening. While the throttle valve 1 is being opened to the preset level, fuel is injected only into the primary carburetor through a nozzle 9, and as the valve 1 goes beyond the level, a piston 7' pushes the valve 8 to open a passage 10 for getting fuel injected also into the accelerating chamber 12 through a fuel orifice 11. If a throttle valve 2 is not opened, the injection fuel returns, due to its dead weight, to a float chamber through a step jet 4 or a hole 14. As a secondary carburetor gets actuated, fuel in the accelerating chamber 12 joins in a fuel passage 5 through an orifice 13 and air hole 4' of the step jet 4 to feed thick mixture. Thus the step system is efficiently communicated with the main fuel system to improve the fuel consumption.
