Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a mixed fuel of alcohol and gasoline from separating in a float chamber and facilitate restarting by closing an air vent passage in the float chamber with an opening/closing valve during engine stopping, in case of a carburetter which mixes alcohol with gasoline and supplies the mixed fuel to the engine.
CONSTITUTION: In a float chamber 3, alcohol is mixed with gasoline in a specified ratio and the fuel thus mixed is supplied to an engine. The float chamber 3 is communicated to a main nozzle 7 through a fuel passage 5 and in parallel, also communicated to an air-intake passage located in the upper stream of the main nozzle 7 through an air vent passage 6. The air vent passage 6 is provided with an opening/closing valve 10. A key switch 11 closes the opening/closing valve 10 when the engine stops so that the moisture in the float chamber 3 may be prevented from evaporating, thus inhibiting both fuels from separating.
