Abstract
PURPOSE: To wash-regenerate efficiently and cheaply an org. solvent, used in separation extraction of metal by a wet metallurgical solvent extraction process, by contacting extraction hindering matter accumulated in the solvent to an aq. soln. of caustic alkali to remove the matter.
CONSTITUTION: In selective separation extraction of desired metal with an org. solvent by a solvent extraction process in a wet metallurgy field, by repeatedly using the solvent over a long term extraction hindering matter is accumulated in the solvent. This solvent is well mixed with an about 1W20% aq. soln. of caustic alkali while agitating in a mixing container such as an agitation vessel, and the mixt. is allowed to stand to separation-recover the org. solvent phase. Most of the hindering matter in the solvent is converted into water sol. salt, which is dissolved in the water phase and removed, thereby recovering the extraction power of the solvent.
