Abstract

PURPOSE:To get rid of the commutating failure when an a.c. motor operating by the commercial power source is changed-over to the operation by a current type inverter by a method wherein a residual voltage of the a.c. motor at the time of change-over is utilized to charge commutating capacitors and the current type inverter is operated. CONSTITUTION:At first, a contact 10 is closed and an a.c. motor 8 is driven by the 3 phase a.c. power source 1 in the commercial frequency. When the contact 10 is opened and a contact 11 is closed at the same time to operates the a.c. motor 8 by connecting to a current type inverter, commutating capacitors 51-56 are charged utilizing an initial charging circuits 9 consisted of thyristors 91, 93 and impedance elements 92, 94 and the residual voltage of a.c. motor 8.
