Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the thermal efficiency of a blast furnace, by controlling the operation of a hot stove so that the flow rate control valve may be closed when the temp. of the hot stove dome is lowered to a temp. prescribed degree lower than the set temp. of the blast.
CONSTITUTION: When, for example, four hot stoves for blasting a blast furnace are operated in parallel, blasting A and combustion B are repeated alternately. The open control OC for opening a flow rate control valve and the close control CC for closing the control valve are adjusted in order to make the blast temp. constant. In practice, however, the flow rate control valve is opened or closed in earlier stage and the heat in the hot stove is not fully utilized, consequently the temp. of the exhaust gas is not kept constant. Hence, when the dome temp. of a preceding hot stove having blasted the blast furnace is lowered to a temp. prescribed degrees lower than the set temp. of the blast, the flow rate control valve at the gas inlet is controlled so as to be closed. Hereby, the unbalance of heat quantity held by each hot stove is removed.
