Abstract

PURPOSE: To make temperature characteristics of sensitivity stabler and circuits simpler by providing a stable oscilating source for time base of a counter having the same characteristics as the temperature characteristics of the outputs of elastic surface wave oscillators.
CONSTITUTION: Elastic surface wave elements 10, 11 are affixed to both surfaces of a beam 2. Amplifiers 3 are connected between the input and output electrodes of the elements 10, 11 to constitute surface wave oscillators 13, 14. The oscillation frequencies when load 1 is applied to the beam 2 are detected with a counter 6, by which the magnitude of the load 1 is obtained. In this case, the temperature characteristics of the oscillator outputs and the temperature characteristics of a stable oscillating source 7 for time base are made equal. The oscillating source 7 outputs the differential frequencies of the oscillators 13, 14 by Y-cut crystal vibrators.
