Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an excellent temperature compensation system by forming a crystal oscillator of a variable phase shifter and amplifier between a transmitting electrode and either of receiving electrodes, and by making use of sliding wave vibration received by the other receiving electrode.
CONSTITUTION: In a main device with receiving electrode 2 arranged in the propagation direction as AT-cut sliding wave vibration, a feedback circuit to transmitting electrode 1 is constituted via voltage variable phase shifter 7 and amplifier 8 to obtain operation of an oscillator with excellent frequency temperature characteristics. A signal of sliding wave vibration received by receiving electrode 3 of a compensating device, on the other hand, has low-quality phase characteristics and is linear. Then reception outputs of electrodes 2 and 3 are divided by dividers 4 and 5 to obtain 6 their phase difference. As a result, the linear part can be utilized as an output proportional to temperature and applying this output to phase shifter 7 makes it possible to constitute a feedback system so that an oscillation frequency to ambient temperature will be flat. In this constitution, a vibrating element consists of the same vibrator, and consequently little error due to a mutual temperature difference occurs, so that excellent temperature compensation can be realized.
