Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide rolls having excellent resistance to molten zinc by using composition consisting of specific amount of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cr, Ni, and one or more selected from Nb, Ta, Zr, and the remaining Fe. CONSTITUTION:Coating rollers and sink rolls used in continuous plating molten zinc plating line for steel strips use the following composition: C<0.2% Si: 2.5- 6%, Mn<2%, P: 0.03% or less, S: 0.03% or less, Cr: 15-25%, Ni: 10-22%, one or more selected from Nb, Ta and Zr: quantity of CX10 or more and less than 2.5%, and the remaining Fe. These rolls have corrosion resistance 4-5 times those of conventional rolls, and therefore drastically reduce the frequency to change rolls. Thus, the operation efficiency of the line is enhanced by reduction of work number of rolls replacement and downtime of plating line.
