Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve local corrosion resistance and to reduce costs by forming a clad steel plate having the build-up deposited metal of austenite stainless steel contg. low N, Cu and a proper amt. of delta-ferrite on the surface. CONSTITUTION:This clad steel plate has the build-up deposited metal contg. <=0.06% C, <=1.2% Si, <=2.0% Mn, <=0.010% S, 16%<=Cr<=22%, 8%<=Ni<=14%, 0.5%<= Cu<=3.0% and <=0.015% N, balance Fe and unavoidable impurities and contg. 3-10% delta-ferrite on the surface. This clad steel plate is improved of local corrosion resistance by addition of Cu without addition of costly Mo at all. It retains the same high corrosion resistance despite hot rolling after build-up welding of the above-mentioned metal, and it is also possible to make the clad steel plate which is hot rolled after welding.
