Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus capable of generating electricity efficiently, by taking out great energy possessed by sea waves through employment of an arrangement in which a resonance sleeve is erected at the center of a circular float in the manner that the section taken along the axis of said resonance sleeve is constituted by two symmetrical U-shaped tubes.
CONSTITUTION: Resonance sleeve 1 erected vertically to the sea surface is fixed, by means of support arms 8, to float 2 which is moored to the bottom of the sea by anchors 11 and anchor chains 10. Here, the space formed between the bottom opening of resonance sleeve 1 and a recess formed in the upper surface of float 2 is shaped such that the section involving the axis of resonance sleeve 1 is always constituted by two symmetrical U-shaped tubes by float 2 and expansion 9 formed around the bottom wall of sleeve 1. Further, an air chamber 14 is formed above the water surface in sleeve 1. At upper portions in chamber 14, there are provided at one side an air inlet port 12 equipped with intake-air control valve 13 and at the other side a compressed-air pipe 7 equipped with outlet-air control valve 5. The pipe 7 is connected via air accumulating chamber 15 and conducit 7A to turbine 3 for driving generator 4.
