Abstract
Plant for exploiting the tidal energy of the sea, comprised of a vertically arranged pump which is anchored to the sea bottom and is actuated by means of a float connected to the piston, and special antireturn valves intended to impulse the water through pressure pipes to a pressure accumulator from which the water passes with adequate pressure to a turbine which drives an electric generator. The pump is comprised of two coaxial tubes which slide one inside the other, the internal pipe acting as a piston connected to a surface buoy which transmits the motion to the internal tube, while the external tube is anchored at the bottom of the sea and is maintained in vertical position by means of floats fixed at its upper extremity. The movement of the waves, or tide, actuates said pump which, in turn, operates the plant.
