Abstract
PURPOSE: To separate In selectively and efficiently from an acidic soln. of sulfuric acid contg. In and other metal by contacting the soln. to an org. solvent contg. di- 2-ethylhexyl phosphate as an extracting agent at a specified pH value or below.
CONSTITUTION: An aqueous acidic soln. of sulfuric acid contg. In and other metal is contacted to an org. solvent such as mineral oil or toluene contg. di-2-ethylhexyl phosphate as an extracting agent at a strongly acidic state of pH≤1.0 to very selectively extract the In with the agent with high efficiency. The org. solvent contg. the extracted In is then back-extracted with hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid to easily back-extract the In.
