Abstract

PURPOSE: To form beautiful woodgrain patterns, by forming film of woodgrain streak on the surface by electrolyzing Al material three times in different electrolytic baths, and forming colored oxide film, and then eluting and removing the barrier film other than the woodgrain streak part.
CONSTITUTION: Al or Al alloy material is degreased and cleaned, and is electrolyzed in aqueous solution of sodium silicate or boric acid with current of AC or pulse polarity transforming waveform to form barrier film layer possessing multiplicity of woodgrain streaks. Then, the material is subjected to anodic oxidation in organic aqueous solution of oxalic acid, sulfosalicylic acid or the like by using DC waveform or pulse waveform. A colored oxide film of amber bronze is formed in the woodgrain streaks. Then, the material is subjected again to anodic oxidation in aqueous solution of oxalic acid or the like, and the barrier film other than the woodgrain part is removed to form an anodic-oxidized film, and also an anodic-oxidized film is formed in the woodgrain part, so that the surface is finished in a beautiful woodgrain pattern.
