NEW MATERIAL:A mixed acid anhydride of formula [R1 and R2 are (substituted) alkyl, (substituted)aryl, or may be a cyclic arakyl group, and either of R1 and R2 may be a resin; a is amino-protecting group; A is amino acid redidue or amino acid derivative residue after removal of H from the amino group and H from the carboxyl group, or peptide residue].
EXAMPLE: Mixed diphenylphosphinothioyl-L-proline diphenylthiophosphinic acid anhydride.
USE: An intermediate for the synthesis of peptide.
PROCESS: An amino-protecting group is reacted with a halogenated phosphinothioyl compound or resin in a solvent, e.g. dioxane, in the presence of an amine, preferably dicyclohexylamine, at room temperature to give the title anhydride.
