Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A cyclohexanecarboxylic acid derivative of formula I [R is (un)substituted phenyl] and a nontoxic salt thereof.
EXAMPLE: Phenyl trans-4-guanidinomethylcyclohexanecarboxylate hydrochloride.
USE: Useful as a medicine having improved inhibitory action on proteolytic enzymes
PROCESS: A compound of formula II or a reactive derivative thereof, e.g. an acid halide is reacted with a phenol of formula III to give the titled compound of formula I. In case the compound of formula II is directly used, the reaction is carried out in an organic solvent, e.g. DMF, at room temperature to the reflux temperature for 5W30hr. A condensing agent used for the ester synthesis is preferably present in the reaction system. In case the reactive derivative of formula II is used, the reaction is carried out in an organic solvent, e.g. dichloroethane, at room temperature to the reflux temperature for 1W5hr.
