Abstract

PURPOSE: To heat combustion air for a fine iron ore sintering machine by heat exchanging hot exhaust gas from the ore discharge side of the machine for the clean air to effectively utilize the sensible heat of the exhaust gas without requiring a dust removing plant and an oxygen enriching plant.
CONSTITUTION: Hot exhaust gas of 400°C or above exhausted from ore discharge side wind boxes 6 of the fine iron ore sintering machine is taken out of branch pipes 7 and passed thrugh heat exchangers 12. On the other hand, external clean air is passed through exchangers 12 by blower 13, heated with the hot exhaust gas, fed to firing furnace 4 and heat holding furnace 5 of the machine as dust-free clean hot air, and used as combustion air. The exhaust gas is deprived of heat and becomes a low temp. After removing dust with dust collector 9 the gas is fed to chimney 11 by exhaust fan 10. By this method exhaust gas is not directly utilized in furnace 4, etc., so a dust removing unit being proof against the high temp. of the gas and an oxygen enriching plant are not required at all, considerably reduing the cost of equipment.
