PURPOSE: To enable an online computer to exercise economical control over the number of pumps by predicting the number of pumps while the cumulated value of the inflow of the arrived water well of an intake plant will be between the upper and lower limits of the predicted cumulated value of outlet water discharge all the time, and then by finding the number of pumps to be put into operation corresponding to a request responding to it and the operation cost.
CONSTITUTION: Water from intake pump 1 is stored in arrived water well 2 and sent out at need and controller 3 for the number of pumps controls the start and stop of each pump.
