Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a method for controlling several pumps by which a rapid change of the process can be prevented in a simple manner by constituting same such that, when a large capacity pump is to be started or stopped, a smaller capa- city pump is first started or stopped by a signal for instructing the start or stop of the large capacity pump, and after completion of the start or stop of the smaller capacity pump, the large capacity pump is now started or stopped.
CONSTITUTION: water from a water source 1 flows into a distributing reservoir 2 and is stored therein. Measured values taken from a water gauge 3, a pressure gauge 5, and a flow meter 6 are sent to a different pump controller 4 which then outputs pump running instruction signals in accordance with pump capacities and pump select signals in order to start or stop the required pumps. The procedure of such start or stop is indicated in the drawing. A rapid fluctuation of the process can be thus prevented by the start or stop of a small capacity pump followed by the start or stop of a large capacity pump.
