Abstract
PURPOSE:To cause reflux so as to permit degassing under optimum conditions by measuring the accelerations of the vibrations produced in a vacuum degassing tank and other vibration elements with the detector mounted to the vacuum-degassing tank and numerically supervising the reflux condition of the molten steel. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric element 9 as a vibration detecting element is mounted to the top end of an RH type vacuum degassing tank 1 and the vibration elements of the degassing tank 1 measured in the four vibration directions shown by the arrow a, b, c, d, i.e., accelerations, amplitudes or frequencies, are measured and the relations with the flow of the blown gas are obtained, whereby the reflux condition of the molten steel is numerically known. Thence, while the reflux condition is being numerically supervised from the above measurements, the reflux amount of the molten steel is quantitatively controlled by the gas flowing amount for reflux, whereby the vacuum degassing is accomplished.
