Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable to carry out economical operation corresponding to the pollution load, by connecting plural structures having each flow passage for descending, ascending and circulation in series and providing flow passage switching mechanism to supply each feed water and activated sludge to the above structures selectively.
CONSTITUTION: The flow passage switching mechanisms V1, V2, V3, V4 supplying feed water to be treated and activated sludge to the structures X1, X2 selectively, are equipped. In the case of the first flow system, the water being treated is flowed to the structures X1, X2 in series while circulating the above water by shutting the mechanisms V2, V4. In the case of the second flow system, the water being treated is circulated in the structure X2 only by shutting the mechanisms V1, V3. In the case of the third flow system, the feed water is sent to the structure X2 and the activated sludge is sent to the structure X1 by shutting the mechanisms V1, V4. Some one of these systems is selected by the control part 14 based on the information from the pollution load detector 15 of the feed water. The treated water is taken out from the tank 3 to the separation vessel 11 and a part of separated activated sludge is returned to the passage 5 by the pump P1 and the remainder is sent to the treating apparatus 12, such as, incinerator etc., and purified water is taken out to the after-treatment apparatus 13.
