Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the pressure-welded joint of high reliability free from oxidation to be obtained by dividing the entire heating period to three periods according to the pressure-weld zone surface temperature and changing the oscillation stroke for the pipe axial direction of a ring burner by each period.
CONSTITUTION: The entire heating period at the steel pipe pressure-welding is divided to the initial period in which the pressure-weld zone surface temperature is 600°C or less, the middle period of 600W1300°C and the late period of 1300°C or more and the ring burner is oscillated in the circumferential direction during the entire period. In the initial period of heating, the oscillation of the ring burner in the pipe axis direction is not done to prevent the oxidation owing to external flame and air inclusion and enhance the heating efficiency of the weld zone. In the middle period, the ring burner is oscillated in the pipe axis direction at the stroke of roughly 1/2W1 time the plate thickness of the steel pipes 1, 1' to eliminate the temperature unevenness in the plate thickness direction. In the late period, the pipe axial direction oscillation of 1W3 times the plate thickness is done to smooth the surface of faying surface 3 and form reinforcement of weld 2. By this method, the set errors of the pipe ends 1, 1' are allowed.
