Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the stress concentration per welded part and improves the life of a titled roller by connecting the longitudinal plural positions for the circumferential plural positions of a heat resistant sleeve inserted onto a fulcrum shaft to the fulcrum shaft by way of welded metal. CONSTITUTION:Many radial small holes (a) are formed dispersedly in longitudinal and circumferential directions in the longitudinal intermediate part of a cylindrical heat resistant steel sleeve 10. Next, this sleeve 10 is shrinkage-fitted onto a fulcrum shaft 11, and metallic bars (b) of roughly the same diameter as that of the small holes (a) are inserted into the holes (a) and are stud-welded to the circumferential surfaces of the shaft 11. Thence, at the use in high temps., the rates of thermal expansion of the sleeve 10 and the shaft 11 differ, but the sleeve 10 and the shaft 11 are connected in the state that they are divided in the longitudinal direction of the roller, whereby the stresses owing to the differences in expansion are dispersed to multipoints and the stress effect upon the weld zone per place is reduced, thus the sleeve 10 and the shaft 11 are firmly integrated into one piece.
