Abstract

PURPOSE:To let the mold of intricate shapes be formed surely in a short time by placing a hermetic type flask on a porous pattern plate and letting explosive wind act upon the sand contained therein. CONSTITUTION:A hermetic type flask 7 is mounted on a porous pattern plate 5 and required amount of casting sand 41 is packed in the inside spacing. Thence, a valve 11 is opened and required amounts of gas fuel and oxygen are supplied from cylinders 17, 18 through conduit 12, after which a switch 22 is closed to generate spark from an ignition device 19. The explosive wind produced in the spacing 40 flows through the sand layers and is released into the atmosphere through fine holes 4 and pressure-contacts the sand at high density along the pattern 3 surface and therefore the mold is formed rapidly and readily.
