Abstract
PURPOSE:To utilize a supply gas without leaking and reduce the consumption of the gas by hardening the mulled sand packed in a molding flask by the gas ejecting from the pattern part of a pattern plate. CONSTITUTION:Plural fine holes 3 communicating with a hollow chamber 2 and ejecting gaseous carbon dioxide are provided in the suitable positions of a pattern part 4 formed on the surface of a pattern plate 1. Next, a molding flask 5 is placed on the top surface of the plate 1, and mulled sand 6 prepd. by adding molding sand to water glass and mulling the mixture is packed in the flask 5. When gaseous carbon dioxide is supplied for a required time into the chamber 2 after this, the gaseous carbon dioxide is ejected through the holes 3 into the flask 5, and part thereof penetrates and flows through the inside of the sand 6 and is released into the atmosphere. The rest flows into the clearances between the sand 6 and the pattern 1, and spreads on the surface of the plate 1, that is, the surface of the pattern part 4, after which it flows through the inside of the sand 6 and is released into the atmosphere. Hence, the gaseous carbon dioxide ejected from the hole 3 is fully used for hardening of the sand 6.
