Abstract
PURPOSE:To make possible simultaneous molding of upper and lower molds having uniform and sufficient hardness by connecting the flasks packed with sand to the top and bottom of the pattern part provided with a hollow chamber through which air can flow and further connecting the squeeze boards provided with air communication holes to the top and bottom thereof, then blowing-in pressure air. CONSTITUTION:A truck 15 mounted with a pattern part 14 is run by a conveyor 13 and is connected to a lower metering hopper 36 containing the specified amount of sand and this is pulled out to the position right above a lower flask 10. An upper flask 27 is then placed thereon and is positioned below an upper metering hopper 41. After sand is packed in the respective flasks, the truck is retunred to the original position and respective air cylinders 2, 12, 28 are operated to tightly engage a lower squeeze board 5, lower flask 10 and upper squeeze board 31. When pressure air is blown to each board in this state, the air is released into the pattern part hollow chamber 16 and the sand in the respective flasks solidfy and is formed to the molds.
