Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide sufficient mold surface hardness to upper and lower molds with a small-sized, simple molding device by moving a molded upper mold together with an upper flask and registering these onto a lower mold obtained by sequeezing the molding sand blown into a lower molding chamber then pulling the flask.
CONSTITUTION: In a lower mold position A, molding sand is blown by compressed air from a blow head 27 into the lower molding chamber formed by lifting a molding board 5 on to a molding board stage part 11 by means of a cylinder 13, lowering a lower flask 16 by means of a cylinder 21 and fitting a pattern plate 22 into the lower flask by means of a cyliner 23, and further the plate 22 is lowered to squeeze the molding sand. After the completion of the squeezing, the flask 16 is pulled and the plate 22 is pulled. A table 6 is successively rotated by the elongating and contracting operations of a cylinder 8 and when the molding board 5 comes to the register position B, the upper mold 3 formed in the same manner as for the lower mold 2 in the upper mold molding position C is conveyed together with an upper flask 43 to the position B by a carriage 42 after the squeezing plate 46 is slightly moved upward and are registered to the lower die 2, after which the upper mold 3 is rapped.
