Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a mold having sufficient strength without jolting operation, by ramming casting sand packed in a cavity for prepg. mold, which is enclosed by a pattern machine and a molding box, by pressing the molding machine into the molding box. CONSTITUTION:A molding box 10 is carried in by a roller conveyor 9 to a prescribed position, and a pattern machine composed of patterns 2 and a pattern plate 3 is raised by a cylinder 1. Hereby the upper surface of a sand frame 5 comes into contact with the lower surface of the molding box 10, in addition, the upper surface of the molding box 10 comes into contact with the lower surface of a blowing machine 11 for casting sand and stops. A support 6 makes the pattern machine advance a little into the sand frame 5 to form a molding cavity, into which casting sand is blown by introducing compressed air into the sand-blowing machine 11 with a plate 15 opened. The molding cavity is filled with sufficient quantity of sand because the air blown into the molding cavity is discharged through vent holes 7, 8. After the machine 11 is retreated, a pressing plate apparatus 12 is conveyed to the position, then the sand is rammed by raising the pattern machine by the cylinder 1.
