Abstract

1500051 Foundry moulding MITSUBISHI JUKOGYO KK 17 April 1975 15980/75 Heading B3G A sand mould is produced by placing a perforated pattern on a base 3, covering the pattern and base with a thin layer 5 of sand and binder, hardening the binder by withdrawing the solvent thereof by drawing air through the layer via passages 2, 4, placing a box 8 on the base and filling it with solid particles, e.g. sand free from binder, covering the box with an air-tight sheet 12 and reducing the pressure within the box to compact the sand by evacuating means acting through passages 9, chamber 11 and pipe 13, and removing the pattern whereby a mould cavity is formed having a thin hardened sand lining.
