Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a rotor which has small moment of inertia and excellent mass productivity by forming a rotor seat by which a rotor magnet comprising an intermetal compound is attached to a rotor shaft by drawing a sheet of thin light metal plate. CONSTITUTION:A positioning hole 5 for sequentially-moving continuous machining is provided and also a neighbouring spill port 6 is provided as preliminary machining through a thin plate 4 of light metal which has good malleability, e.g., aluminum, aluminum alloy, and the like. Then, a cup-shaped outer configuration is formed by sequential drawing. Thereafter, a small hole 7 is provided at the center of the bottom of the cup. The surrounding portion of said small hole is further drawn, and a flange 8 is formed. Finally, a rotor seat 3 is formed by taking out the outer configaration from the thin plate 4. then, a rotor magnet 1 comprising an intermetal compound is compressed into the rotor seat 3, and a rotor-rotating shaft 2 is compressed into the small hole 7 with the flange 8 in the rotor seat 3, thereby the rotor is completed.
