Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the efficiency of treatment for water to be treated by the procedure in which activated sludge used in the clarification of water to be treated is separated, and then the activated sludge separated is revitalized by supply of oxygen gas and again supplid to the clarification of water.
CONSTITUTION: In a water treatment apparatus in which water to be treated, treated in the first denitrification tank 2 where nitrous acid nitrogen present is reduced, is supplied to the oxidation treatment tank 4 where it is oxidized by activated sluge while supplying oxygen-containing gas, and then the treated water is supplied through the degassing tank 8 to the specific gravity separation tank 9 and discharged as clarified water through the second denitrification tank 15, the aeration tank 16, the sedimentation tank 17, and the activated carbon tank 18, a part of activated sludge recovered at the specific gravity separation tank is supplied to the digestion tank 11 and remaining excessive sludge is taken out to the outside and then supplied to the post treatment apparatus 13. In this case, the activity of the activated sludge is revitalized by supply of an oxygen-rich gas from the oxygen gas supplier 12 and then returned through the return path 14 to the oxidation treatment tank 4.
