Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove the ammonia and org. nitrogen in desorbed liquid after anaerobic degestion effectively by separating the org. acids formed in an acid fermentation process of anaerobic digestion and supplying the org. acids to a biological denitrification process.
CONSTITUTION: After raw materials are subjected to an acid fermentation treatment in an acid fermentation vessel 1, they are fractionated to org. acids and sludge in an org. acid decomposing vessel 2. The separated sludge is fed to a methane fermentation vessel 3, where org. materials are separated to gaseous methane and carbon dioxide by methane germs. The slurry of methane fermentation is separated to digested sludge and desorbed liquid. The desorbed liquid is subjected to removal of BOD and a nitrification of ammoniacal nitrogen in an aeration tank 5, thence it is transferred into a denitrification vessel 6. The org. acids separated in the vessel 2 are supplied into the vessel 6. Since these org. acids are utilized as a carbon source for denitrification germs, nitrate nitrogen and the like are separated efficiently to gaseous nitrogen.
