Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for a solid-liquid separation tank of magnesium ammonium phosphate and use of coagulant by a method wherein part of raw liquid is added to the final denitrification section and further magnesium cpd. is added, in a biological nitrification and denitrification process for organic waste liquid contg. BOD, ammonia, and phosphoric acid.
CONSTITUTION: Raw liquid such as feces and urine contg. BOD, ammonia, phosphoric acid, etc. is passed througha first denitrification section 2, nitrification section 3, and a second denitrification section 4 while undergoing biological nitrification and denitrification processes and is freed from BOD and ammonia present in liquid. During the process, part of the raw liquid 1 is taken and added to the final stage of the second denitrification section 4. Further, magnesium cpd. 5 such as magnesium hydroxide is added to cause the remaining ammonia to be precipitated as NH4 MgPO4, etc, which, together with microbe flocks, is separated in the final settling basin 6. In this manner, partial addition of the raw liquid to the denitrification section can eliminate the need for use of valuable material such as methanol.
