Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the content of nitrogen to an extent that enrichment is throughly eliminated even in a waste water rich in nitrogen in the form of ammoina by means of a biochemical treatment method and an ion exchange method.
CONSTITUTION: SS component is separated from raw waste water at a first cedimentation tank 1 and the supernatent water is sent to a first enditrification tack 2. In the tank 2, the water is mixed with a recycling liquid from a nitration tank 3 to undergo an anaerobic denitrification with denitrification bacteria. Then, then water thus denitrified is mixed with a regenerated ion exchange liquid and sent to the nitration tank 3 to undergo an arobic tretmebt with nitration bacterial. A part of the water thus treated is recycled to the tank 2, while the rest of the water is sent to a second denitrification tank 4 to undergo an anaerobic denitrification with an organic carbon source from a storage tank 8. Then, the water thus dnitrified is sent to a second sedimentation tank 5 to undergo solid/liquid separation and the supernatant water is removed with an inorganic coagulant at a dephosphorization tank, thus coagulating SS content which failed to be separated at the tank 5. Consequently, the water thus treated is sent to an exchange chamber 7 provided with an ion exchange diaphragm for selectevely removing nitrogen in the form of ammonium ion, such as zeolite
