Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove BOD and nitrogen compounds highly efficient to a high degree by a method wherein waste water containing BOD and nitrogen compounds at high concentration is primarily treated by photosynthetic bacteria and the waste water is purified by jointly using secondary and tertiary disposal by employing activated sludge without solid-liquid-separating disposed water.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water containing BOD and nitrogen compounds at high concentration is primarily disposed by photosynthetic bacteria (particularly, crimson nonsulfur bacteria) in a non- dilution shape, and the water primarily disposed is transferred to a denitrification tank A (4) without solid-liquid-separating of the water. A liquid in a nitration tank (5) and invigorated sludge in a sedimentation tank (8) of the final process are both returned and added into the denitrification tank A (4), and the water disposed here is successively carried to the nitration tank (5) of the next process, a denitrification tank B (6), a re-aeration tank (7) and the sedimentation tank (8) and disposed. Thus, this method can easily remove BOD and nitrogen compounds to a high degree, the dimensions of each tank used in the uniting processes of secondary and tertiary disposal can further be contracted as compared to conventional methods, and a special solid-liquid separator for the water primarily disposed and chemicals, such as a coagulant for separating solid and liquid, etc. are also unnecessary.
