Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable welding to be performed without producing any strain in stainless steel base material and copper material by applying a DC voltage to the both to generate arc in Ar gas shield and supplying a copper wire to the molten part.
CONSTITUTION: A DC voltage is applied between an electrode and stainless steel material and copper material these being base materials to generate arc in Ar gas these being base materials to generate arc in Ar gas shield. While a copper wire is being supplied as a filler metal to the molten part, TIG welding is performed. By performing local high temperature heating in this way, the occurrence of strain of the base materials in the weld zone is eliminated, the deposited metal layer of less oxygen is obtained and the toughness of the weld zone becomes good. Hence, this method enables various kitchen utensiles, bath furnaces, etc. imparted with the characteristics of copper material at their heat-exchanging parts to be produced.
