Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease penetration and reduce wire consumption by forming welding electric circuits wherein a nonconsumable electrode and a consumable electrode are disposed in proximity and are made the same in polarity, and inserting the consumable electrode into the arc generated between the nonconsumable electrode and base metals thereby generating a hot short arc.
CONSTITUTION: Welding electric circuits 5, 6 wherein a nonconsumable electrode 2a and a comsumable electrode (wire) 3a are disposed in proximity, and both electrodes 2a, 3a are made the same in polarity are formed. Here, an arc is generated between the nonconsumable electrode 2a and base metals 1, and the consumable electrode 3a is inserted into the molten pool melted by the base metals 1. The consumable electrode 3a exhibits resistance heat and short arc phenomenon by this, but since the molten metal plays the role of a cushion, no spatters are formed and the build-up welding of less penetration and high deposition efficiency is accomplished.
