Abstract
PURPOSE:To suppress the occurrence of noise wave effectively by a method wherein the spark discharge unit of at least one of the rotor electrode and the stationary electrode is formed of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and the thickness of the discharge unit is made in the range from 0.3mm to 1.2mm. CONSTITUTION:In the ignition power distributor, high voltage from the ignition coil (not shown) is introduced from center terminal 7 and sent to rotor electrode 3 via spring 8 and carbon electrode 9. After power is supplied to stationary electrode 6 by breaking down the insulation air in discharge gap G between the end of rotor elecrrode 3 and stationalry electrode 6, it is sent to the ignition plug (not shown). For a power distributor like this, at least one of rotor electrode 3 and stationary electrode 6 (rotor electrode 3 in the drawing) is formed of aluminum or an aluminum alloy, and the thickness of the end of the spark discharge unit is set in the range from 0.3mm to 1.2mm. Rotor electrode 3 is tapered from base 11 toward its tip.
