Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress the production of noise electric wave caused by discharge while reducing the loss of ignition energy by forming spark discharging portions of a rotor electrode and fixed side electrodes by ferrite for providing a predetermined length of gap therebetween. CONSTITUTION:A limitted gap is provided between an end of a rotor electrode 3 and fixed side electrodes 6. The spark discharging portions of the rotor electrode 3 and/or fixed side electrodes 6 are formed by ferrite, while the gap therebetween being provided in the range from 1.2 to 6.5 mm. By the use of the ferrite is reduced the peak value of discharged current and high frequency portion of noise, and by setting a predetermined length of the gap is reduced the level of noise electric field and further the loss of energy so that the production of noise electric wave caused by the discharge can be suppressed while the loss of ignition energy can be reduced.
