Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the overall heat energy recovery efficiency by a method wherein a gas turbine is driven by the high temp. and high pressure gas obtained by mixing a compressed air to a furnace top gas of a blast furnace and combusting during high pressure operation and the exhaust gas thereof is used as a combusting air for a hot air furnace.
CONSTITUTION: A furnace top gas of a blast furnace under high pressure operation is branched from a circuit directed to a gas holder 4 and entered into a combuster 7 from a pressure and flow amount control valve 12 and mixed with a compressed air of which a pressure is raised by air compressor 8 and combusted to obtain the high temp. and high pressure gas. This gas drives a gas turbine 2 to rotate a generator 3 connected directly thereto and the electricity is generated. The exhaust gas from a turbine 2 is used as a combusting air for a hot air furnace 9 to combust a fuel supplied from a booster 11.
