Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the liquid crystal display element of stable quality by injecting liquid crystal in the cell formed by glass substrates, heating the same to extrude part of the liquid crystal from the injection port, removing the extruded liquid crystal then sealing the injection port.
CONSTITUTION: Liquid crystal 1 of a coefficient of thermal expansion larger than that of glass substrates 2a, 2b is injected, after which the cell 2 is heated to 60W 90°C with heaters 5 and the liquid crystal portions extruded through the injection port 6 are removed by blowing N2 gas or the like, thence a sealing agent 4 is coated to enclose the injection port 6. Thereafter, the heaters 5 are removed or the temperature of the heaters 5 is gradually lowered to cool the entire part of the cell down to ordianry temperature. In this way, the multiple cells are evenly heated by using belt conveyors and the influent speed of the sealing agent into the cell is controlled through controlling of cooling rate, whereby the liquid crystal display cells of stable quality are obtained.
