Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance cooling power and to reduce the pull-down time to a predetermined temperature on the starting of the cooling operation by automatically accelerating the engine to increase the compressor revolution rate only by making a switch during the engine idling.
CONSTITUTION: When the engine revolution rate is low in the engine idling or when cooling is started from such a condition that avehicle is at rest, switches 9 and 9a are made to energize solenoid valves (vacuum valves) 8 and 16, and the control chamber of a vacuum actuator 6 is connected with the intake manifold 1 of an engine 13 through connection pipes 7 and 7a. The control chamber is deformed by the negative pressure inside the intake mainifold 1, to move the throttle valve 2 of the engine 13 in the accelerating direction, thereby accelerating the engine 13 and a compressor 12. At the same time, a fan motor is rotated at a maximum speed.
