Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an Al alloy with excellent strength and molding processability obtained by containing a specific amount of Mg, Si or, moreover, one or more of Cu, Mn, Zr to Al.
CONSTITUTION: Mg; 0.15W0.50%, Si; 0.10W0.60% or, moreover, according to necessity, below 0.15% of one or more of Cu, Mn, Zr as a total amount are added to Al and alloyed. The strength and the elongation are improved by the addition of Mg and Si as well as improving the molding processability. And moveover the strength of an Al alloy is enhanced by the addition of Cu, Mn, Zr or the like without losing the effect by the addition of Mg and Si and the moldability is enhanced by refining treatment. The molding processability such as drawing, stretching, bore expanding, ironing or the like are easy and is obtained an Al alloy showing remarkable effect in the production of a thin walled molded article with high strength and light weight, improvement in workability as well as cost-down.
