PURPOSE:To secure the checking for the connection between the remote input/output part and the control part at the starting time and thus prevent the system malfunction caused by the connection mistake, by providing the means which sets both the remote input/output part number and the control part number to both the remote input/output and control parts. CONSTITUTION:Central process unit CPU1 of part RIOC-O informs the signal showing the start to CPU2 of remote input/output part RIO-O via downward transmission line LO-O. And CPU2 transfers the address data to select remote input/ output part number setting circuit S1 to address bus BUS32 within bus BUS3. The number set at circuit S1 is read out to BUS3 and then informed to CPU1 of part RIOC-O via circuit LI-O. And CPU1 reads out the control part number from circuit S and then compares it with the remote input/output part number transmitted from part RIO-O. And if the coincidence is obtained through the comparison, the correct connection is decided for report to main arithmetic control part MPU. Then the MUP starts execution of the program.
