Abstract

PURPOSE: To quantify heat-emitted hydrogen in a solid sample with a high precision by connecting a gas sampler, which is provided with flow path switching valves at the carrier gas entrance and the exit respectively, to the gas exit side of a sample vessel and by operating these switching valves properly.
CONSTITUTION: Sample vessel 1 collects hydrogen gas extracted from the solid sample inserted through insertion entrance 2. This vessel 1 is heated at a fixed temperature by heating furnace 3. Carrier gas of gas source 4 has pressure adjusted by regulating valve 5 and is further made into a fixed flow quantity of regulating valve 6 to carry hydrogen gas in sample vessel 1 through flow path switching valves 7 and 8, gas sampler 9, and flow path switching valve 10 and emit hydrogen gas into air. A part of carrier gas is led to the analyzed gas flow path of gas analyzer 14 through bypass valve 11, pressure regulating valve 12, and flow path switching valve 13. Then, a part of carrier gas is led to the reference gas flow path of analyzer 14 through pressure regulating valve 15.
